What: SummerFest returns to the Central Harbourfront Event Space to offer you a fun-filled summer break with a wide range of large-scale outdoor recreational activities. This year, the festival features over 25 programmes revolving around the themes of #TimeOff, #ChillOut and #PowerOn.

Highlights of the event include the Monet Garden, an immersive art experience where visitors can recreate some of Monet’s masterpieces; the Summoji area showcasing a series of 3D smileys designed by local multimedia creator Calix; as well as the Living Art Space featuring a range of on-stage and off-stage performances, lifestyle market and handicraft workshops (held from July 17 to August 6).

3. Hong Kong Ballet: ALICE (in wonderland)

5. Semi-staged Opera: Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi

What: Derived from the same 1530 Italian novella as Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Bellini’s opera I Capuleti e i Montecchi packs all the romantic tragedy into the lovers’ final 24 hours. Although the drama in the familiar story tracks the very real political violence that roiled medieval Italian cities, the undertone of melancholy is belied by the aching beauty of Bellini’s melodic music.
