Which Hong Kong district inspires you? For our May cover shoot with Asia Art Archive founder Claire Hsu, the answer had to be Sheung Wan; Hsu was shot at various locations within the neighbourhood by renowned photographer Laurent Segretier, who used a Leica M9, at venues chosen for their history and gritty visuals. As Hsu said, “Sheung Wan has been integral to shaping my views of the city. There is something new to discover every day.”

We have decided, therefore, to pay homage to the beauty of the city’s heritage locations and modern cultural hotspots and invite readers to submit images focusing on their favourite Hong Kong district. All eligible entries will be showcased in our online gallery for a month, and the top 20 images will also be displayed in a special exhibition at the newly-opened Liang Yi Museum in Sheung Wan.

A panel of expert judges, including Segretier, Schmidt Marketing (H.K.) Ltd Deputy General Manager Anthony Chan, Liang Yi Museum’s Managing Director Lynn Fung, and Edipresse Asia’s Group Editor in Chief Sean Fitzpatrick, will vote on their favourites, and a winner – who will receive a HK$20,000 LEICA voucher, will be crowned on June 16.
