In a much-awaited move, an award-winning musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda launches its Asian tour in Manila

The acclaimed Hamilton musical is set to premiere in Asia this coming September, with Manila as its first stop. The "innovative, original and transformative" play will grace the walls of The Theatre at Solaire, and fans should expect tickets to be available on April 24.

"Hamilton's fans from the Philippines have been telling us for years how much they want to see the show," says Michael Cassel, Hamilton's international tour producer. "Many of them have travelled to see it all over the world. It is a thrill to, finally, be able to bring it to them."

With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography.

It premiered on Broadway in August 2015 to wide critical and audience acclaim. Since then, the show has won a Tony, Grammy, Olivier Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

With a score that boasts a combination of hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, the musical has taken the story of Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre: a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics and education.

The Manila production will be presented by GMG Productions. Tickets will be on sale starting April 24 through TicketWorld. A waitlist is now available at gmg-productions.com/hamilton and hamiltonmusical.com/international-tour.
