Returning from March 28 to 30, 2025, Art Basel Hong Kong spotlights 240 galleries from 42 countries—and features a new art prize and a film sector
Art Basel Hong Kong, one of the city’s premier art events, will return from March 28 to 30, 2025, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
This edition will showcase 242 galleries from 42 countries and territories, with over half of the participating galleries hailing from the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and Australia. This highlights the art fair’s commitment to providing a platform for the region’s vibrant art scene.
The fair is organised into several sections: Galleries, the main area for established and blue-chip galleries; Discoveries, which features emerging artists; and Insights, which explores curated projects from artists across Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.

The fair will introduce the MGM Discoveries Art Prize for emerging artists. Art Basel Hong Kong is also partnering with the art NGO Para Site for the first time to curate the Film sector, which will showcase 23 new galleries from all over the world. The film programme features seven screenings and the works of 30 artists. Para Site and Art Basel will further work with cultural video channel Nowness Asia and Videotage, one of the region’s leading non-profit organisations dedicated to video art, to expand on its film art programmes.
Attendees can also look forward to Night Charades by Chanel Next Prize-winning Singaporean artist Ho Tzu Nyen. This new animation, co-commissioned by M+ and Art Basel with support from UBS, will be displayed on the façade of M+ throughout the art fair. In this work, Ho reimagines iconic scenes from Hong Kong cinema.
For those who would love to leave with a token of memory, The Art Basel Shop will be present in Hong Kong for the first time, where visitors can select lifestyle products that celebrate the Art Basel experience.
