The exhibition, co-presented by Landmark and luxury fashion brand Sauvereign, will run until September 18, and features both Makos’ original black-and-white photographs and pop art duo-tone-inspired re-prints of his work. Both have never been shown to the public before.

Warhol and Makos became close friends in the 1970s in New York. They supported each other’s work and introduced each other to their individual crafts.

On October 27, 1982, the pair travelled to Hong Kong and visited some of the city’s most iconic spots, including taking a ride on the Star Ferry and visiting Wong Tai Sin Temple.

Makos photographed their trip, and it’s those images that are presented in Warhol Markos: Andy Loves HK.

The exhibition is part of Sauvereign’s Campaign 1981, which collaborates with and celebrates international artists with influence on the creative and cultural scenes.

Until September 23, 2022. Landmark Atrium and inside Sauvereign, Shop 203B, Central.
