Foreigners who fulfil certain criteria can live in Sarawak with a multiple-entry social visit pass as part of the Sarawak-Malaysia My Second Home (S-MM2H) programme that was announced last September, with approved participants able to buy a home at a minimum price of RM600,000 (S$184,500) per unit in Kuching and RM500,000 per unit in other areas. New and enhanced S-MM2H regulations also allow successful applicants to work or be involved in investment and business activities as part of the programme; the Sarawak SMM2H is governed by the state of Sarawak and is not subject to west Malaysia policy.
