One of the most cherished ballrooms in the history of The Manila Hotel keeps up with the times and undergoes a transformation.
The vision was to create a flexible event space for intimate conventions, meetings or family parties. “We envisioned the new Fiesta Pavilion to be subdivided into smaller ‘smart’ ballrooms with walls and ceilings that change colours through computer-controlled lighting to suit the event’s colour scheme,” shared Nian Liwanag-Rigor, The Manila Hotel’s assistant vice-president for public relations & corporate communications. Taking the lead in this important project was interior designer Manny Samson of Manny Samson and Associates.

A major change were the new lighting fixtures which feature intelligent colour changing LED lighting systems that offer intensely saturated, controllable light for interior architectural applications, from intricate light shows to dynamic accent lighting. It also offers a significantly expanded colour palette and enhanced colour precision perfect for professionalstage and entertainment environments. This mastery of the state-of-the-art light and sound technology thrives on drama and spectacle, staying true to the hotel’s promise in delivering a sense of theatre to every celebration. Fiesta Pavilion’s pillars and chandeliers were also taken down to accommodate numerous conference participants. This was a big decision that the hotel made in anticipation of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum this year.

The new ballroom is a balance between the old and the new, the traditional and progressive. It ensures that The Manila Hotel will live on and create new and warm memories for generations to come. The Manila Hotel’s Executive Vice-President Dr Enrique Yap Jnr shared, “Magnificent, timeless, and truly a masterpiece. These three words perfectly describe the newly renovated Fiesta Pavilion. It will stand proud to be the premier choice for business and social functions of our distinguished clientele.”
