Step into a world where time slows down at The Tales Story One – Bangjo, a luxurious private pool villa that carries on the spirit of legendary design, offering the perfect coastal getaway in Phuket.
When people think of Phuket, they usually picture busy beaches and a lively, restless energy. However, if you drive away from the main tourist spots and head towards the quiet area of Bangjo in Thalang, the island's noise fades into a peaceful setting of rubber trees and rolling hills. It is in this hidden sanctuary that Sansiri has launched The Tales Story One – Bangjo, the brand's very first collection of ultra-luxury private pool villas on the island.
A sense of privacy is felt immediately. The entrance gate is designed to blend with the surrounding nature, acting like a green fortress. Stepping into this intimate enclave, which is limited to just 13 families, a quiet privacy fills the air. Shared spaces like the Family Activity Lawns and the pavilion are carefully framed by tropical plants, making it feel like walking through a world-class private resort.
This oasis is the result of a major collaboration between Sansiri and the design team of the architect Edward Tuttle—the man who created legendary global retreats like Amanpuri. His signature on this project carries forward the vision of mixing a Thai Modern Resort lifestyle with contemporary living. It creates a relaxing space built to the Sansiri Standard, ready to support the everyday stories of its residents.

Tropical modernity
If one were to define the architectural philosophy here, the term 'Tropical Architecture' comes to mind. The project carries the distinct design DNA of Edward Tuttle. Working closely with Edward Tuttle's team, Sansiri has seamlessly applied this DNA to both the exterior architecture and the interior design of this specific unit. As a result, the home does not try to stand tall to demand attention; rather, it shows a deep respect for the natural environment and local culture, blending smoothly with the landscape of Phuket.
Behind this outstanding design is a deliberate use of symmetry. The layout intentionally aligns the two sides of the house, using a central axis that connects the swimming pool and the bathroom. This ensures all architectural elements, both inside and out, are perfectly balanced without feeling too heavy on one side, offering a visually pleasing and relaxing aesthetic from the very first glance.
What is distinctly noticeable is the use of the "pitched roof" and the "zigzag pattern," which are interpreted and woven into every detail. Whether it is the entrance gate, the building's exterior, or the details of the furniture inside, these elements create a cohesive design language throughout the entire project. Visitors can immediately feel this harmony without needing any explanation.
The angle of the pitched roof not only creates a unique visual identity but also serves a practical purpose in Tropical Design. It draws hot air upwards to cool the space naturally, while the deep roof overhangs protect the home from intense sun and heavy monsoon storms.

Another standout feature is the honest use of materials. The architectural team intentionally avoided excessive decoration, choosing earth tones and natural textures instead. Sandstone, dark wood, and locally sourced materials are used throughout.
The landscaping is equally important. Large trees are positioned to act as a "natural façade," filtering the sunlight and screening views from the outside. As the sun moves throughout the day, the shadows of the leaves cast upon the walls and the pool create a lively, changing dimension of light and shade, ensuring the architecture of The Tales Story One is never completely still.
Flowing sanctuaries
To experience this more deeply, we are invited into Show Villa No. 12. Pushing open the large, solid wood doors, the first sensation is the cool touch of the long stone floor, which leads the eye straight down the hallway to the clear, blue-green water of the private swimming pool ahead.
The single-storey layout, covering 401 square metres of living space, is smartly planned to create a smooth, flowing living experience. Built in a U-shape around the pool and paired with the symmetrical axis, the water truly becomes the "heart of the home." The living and dining area welcomes the pool views with a wide seven-metre opening. This, combined with towering 5.2-metre-high ceilings, creates a volume of space that allows the house to breathe fully.

In terms of function, the open European kitchen connects to a large dining table. This setup is perfect for both preparing a simple holiday breakfast and hosting a dinner party with close friends at night. The floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors can be opened fully to the edge of the walls, breaking down the barrier between the indoors and the poolside terrace, turning the living room into an open-air pavilion that catches the sea breeze.
This careful attention is also seen in the two Master Bedrooms. Following the symmetrical axis, they are located on opposite sides of the pool to offer maximum privacy to the residents. Both bedrooms feature direct pool access. This is completed by spacious en-suite bathrooms that feel like a five-star spa brought into the home, with a freestanding bathtub placed right on the central axis to enjoy views of the water and a compact green garden.

The charm that makes Show Villa No. 12 so interesting is its interior design concept, reflecting the 'Arts of Stillness' to create a space that brings peace to the mind.
Looking at the furniture layout, there is a clear intention to use low-profile pieces so they do not block the views. The thick, soft sofas are covered in natural linen and cotton in off-white, sand, and olive green. These provide a warm and relaxing touch, paired with a custom-made teak wood coffee table that shows off its natural wood grain. Some furniture pieces are even designed to match the "zigzag pattern" of the building, reinforcing the unity of the design.
The atmosphere is also shaped by the lighting design. During the day, natural light shines through the large glass doors and the windows under the roof gables, giving the textured materials depth. When the sun sets, hidden warm-white lights gently highlight the textures of the stone walls and wood. This turns the villa into a warm and romantic space, much like a large, glowing lantern in the middle of a dark tropical garden.
Moreover, the soul of the house is expressed through a carefully chosen selection of art and decorations. Whether it is uniquely shaped ceramics, wooden sculptures crafted by artisans, or Asian-inspired antiques, these items are not just placed to fill empty space. Each piece has a "story" that connects to the lifestyle. The harmony between honest materials, valuable art, and highly symmetrical architecture means The Tales Story One is not just a holiday home. It is a space ready for its owners to add their own "endless stories" every single day.
