Hong Kong actress Carina Lau, who has reportedly amassed a property portfolio worth US$118 million with husband Tony Leung, is said to be putting an extravagant Shanghai home on the market

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau is rumoured to be putting a luxury three-storey penthouse in Shanghai on the market for RMB180 million (approximately US$28.4 million), according to Hong Kong media outlets.

The home, located on the top floors of a building at Shimao Riviera Garden residential complex in the Pudong area, reportedly takes up 30,000 sq ft. It has five bedrooms and four living spaces, as well as a private pool and a garden with views of the Huangpu River, per HK01.

This wouldn’t be the only property owned by the Hong Kong screen icon, who is now based in Shanghai and has been married to fellow actor Tony Leung since 2008.

Lau reportedly owns homes in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and her native Suzhou, and along with Leung amassed a property portfolio worth over US$118 million, according to local media.

The actress occasionally shares snaps of her luxurious living spaces on Instagram.

The shot above, believed to be taken in a home she reportedly bought in 1995 at May Tower in Hong Kong’s exclusive Mid-Levels Central district, hints at her love of entertaining—it shows an elaborately decorated dining room complete with an ornate chandelier.

The interior design in her Hong Kong home is reportedly the work of William Chang, one of the region’s best-known production designers and costume designers and a frequent collaborator of seminal film director Wong Kar-wai.

Chang was responsible for the look and feel of In the Mood for Love (2000) and The Grandmaster (2013), both directed by Wong—the latter earned Chang an Academy Award nomination for best costume design in 2014.

Other shots posted by Lau offer a glimpse into her enthusiasm for romantic floral patterns and European-inspired interiors. A photo of a living space showcases a vintage-inspired aesthetic juxtaposed against the downtown skyline.

If you’re keen to rub shoulders with Lau and Leung, May Tower homes on the market now include a 2,218 sq ft triplex, listed by List Sotheby’s International Realty for HK$93 million (approximately US$11.9 million). Meanwhile, at Shimao Riviera Garden, apartments of 861 sq ft to 3,660 sq ft are available for rental—prices range from RMB16,000 to RMB48,000 (approximately US$2,520 to US$7,563) per month from Maxview Realty.
