1. A Beachfront Penthouse

The beachside community of Tamarama, situated 6 kilometres from downtown Sydney, has long been a desirable residential hotspot.

Built by the beach, the Kalypso development has 11 units, offering bespoke interiors with a minimalist aesthetic, designed to allow homes’ beautiful ocean views to be the star of the show.

Today, only the penthouse inside the development remains on the market. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, the 2,723 sq ft home has three balconies, offering beautiful ocean views and plenty of natural light. Design details include curved walls and stone benchtops, inspired by the waves of the sea. The neutral colour palette—featuring ivory, sand and blue tones—also speak to the property’s surroundings.

From AU$16 million (approximately US$11.5 million). More info on Kalypso’s website

2. Atop a Skyscraper

Taking up the top two floors of the Greenland Centre, one of the tallest residential towers in Sydney, this 7,255 sq ft home—dubbed the “king penthouse”—features gorgeous bespoke interiors and vistas of Sydney cityscapes.

It has four bedrooms and comes complete with a sky garden, outdoor kitchen and a spa—all coveted features in a downtown home.

The luxury development of Greenland Centre was completed in November 2021. Standing at a height of 234 metres, the building has 67 storeys.

3. In a Site Steeped in History

The affluent harbourside suburb of Elizabeth Bay in Sydney is well-known for its architectural history and abundance of luxury homes.

Currently in construction and set to be completed in 2023, luxury residential development Munro House takes up the site previously occupied by the former headquarters of the New South Wales Country Women’s Association, an organisation that works towards bettering the lives of women and children in rural areas throughout the Australian state. The new luxury development is named after Grace Emily Munro, who led the association in the 1920s.

There are two apartments that remain on the market at Munro House: a 1,464 sq ft apartment with three bedrooms and two and a bathrooms; as well as a 1,033 sq ft home with bedrooms and two bathrooms.

High ceilings and large balconies inside each home allow for natural light and a spacious feel, while the interiors have a contemporary aesthetic. Materials used include timber, marble and granite, which also add a timeless feel to the homes.

Three-bedroom home, AU$3.95 million (approximately US2.8 million); two-bedroom home, AU$2.2 million (approximately US$1.5 million). More info on Munro House’s website
