This newly revamped architecture firm recently earned Architecture and Design Firm of the Year and two other awards for its residential and commercial projects at the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Design Awards
Barchan + Architecture received three awards last June at the 2024 United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Design Awards. It received Architecture and Design Firm of the Year for its tireless members’ contributions to the Filipino architectural community. It also received awards for the Residential Project of the Year for the Polygon House in Taguig and the Commercial Project of the Year for The Terraces at Dao in Marikina.

The UAP Design Awards was held at the Waldorf Astoria in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. The global award honours the work of architectural firms that balance environmental sustainability with creative innovations and a deep-seated commitment to aesthetics. The UAP Design Awards committee comprises international architects and designers at the forefront of the industry.

Barchan + Architecture obtained the Residential Project of the Year award for the Polygon House, a two-storey house in Taguig. Subverting traditional expectations, this house comprises three stacked cubes with floors featuring polygonal forms. This added an unexpected dimension to the living experience, pushing the boundaries of architectural expression in the home setting. The interiors of the space are refreshing, with natural light permeating the various entertainment and living areas.

It was also awarded with the Commercial Project of the Year for The Terraces at Dao. This building is a 3,100-square-metre head office and warehouse for an entertainment equipment rental company. Inspired by Filipino fiestas, the firm infused the space with vibrant colours.
