Amanda Wood's dreamy Tuscan-style house in The Holiday was a real house built in 1928 by Wallace Neff. The mansion is found along Orlando Road in San Marino, California. It is a 10,324 square foot mansion that contains seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. Although the interior appeared modern in the rom-com, the real mansion has gorgeous Spanish-style interiors.

It was sold for US$9.5 million (PHP474 million).

In Baz Luhrmann’s film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, the eponymous popular film featured a lavish castle inspired by many mansions found along the Gold Coast. One of their point of reference was a beautiful French-style chateau, the Oheka Castle, which stands tall in Long Island, New York where Jay Gatsby’s home is located according to the novel.

As we tagged along Kevin McCallister's elaborate ploy to protect himself from burglars, we had a good tour around the McCallister mansion. It was quite a character. However, the real house looks a tad bit different now from when we had last seen it.

The real Georgian-style house that was built in the 1920s was owned by John and Cynthia Abendshien. When they put the house on the market, it looked almost identical but without the floral wallpaper. In 2012, it was sold for US$1.5 million (PHP79 million) but now costs US$2 million (PHP99.8 million).

Tatler Trivia: Macauley Culkin spent his days in the house with the real owners when they weren't filming, reveals the owners' daughter Laura Abendshien, who was only 6-years-old then.

The award-winning Hoke house was what the Cullen's called home in the film adaptation of Twilight. Floating and enchanting, the house is found within Portland's Forest Park and seamlessly blends urban living and the wild.

The house, designed by Arthur Erickson, does not completely look similar to what was shown in the film including the spacious main driveway. It also has five bedrooms and a wooded half acre lot. It was renovated and sold in the market for US$3.3 million (PHP164.8 million).
