Embodying a couple’s cherished memories of Paris, this apartment by Oddsome is a beautiful love letter to the City of Light
Long before Emily made her way to Paris, the French capital had stoked popular imagination as an iconic epicentre of culture, fashion and style. The well-travelled owners of this apartment have fond memories of their trips to the City of Light, and wished to incorporate elements of their favourite city into their abode.
As keen admirers of the Paris- and Monaco-based design firm Humbert & Poyet, the couple also wished to reference elements of its inimitable style in their home. They tasked Singapore design firm Oddsome to transform their 800 sq ft apartment into a charming haven, reminiscent of some of the most stylish venues in Paris.

Taking Shape

Situated in the Leedon Green luxury condominium, the property is centrally located in one of Singapore’s most exclusive districts. What it needed were the soft touches to make the two-bedroom unit truly feel like home, while conveying a modern Parisian look and feel.
Led by Oddsome founder JX Choo, and principal designer and co-founder Cher Yeo, the six-week renovation and interior styling exercise turned an empty shell into a characterful and liveable abode. “Our role was to interpret those expectations into a design that feels elevated yet personal—one that balances character with enduring appeal,” says Yeo.
State of Play

Just as the most tasteful locations in Paris embrace cross-cultural influences, this home similarly leans into that. The studio gathered collections from across Europe and the Americas, with each piece hand-picked for how it contributes to the overall aesthetic. The open-plan living and dining room has the effect of a stylish lounge in a boutique hotel, with merry conversations shared over tinkling glasses of champagne.

A delicate Lladró Kokeshi porcelain lamp sits pretty on the deep-red Thierry Bistrot table from Kartell. The custom dining bench is dressed in teal blue, and a jacquard fabric designed by Humbert & Poyet for Nobilis Paris. Another fun touch comes from the geometric wallcoverings from Élitis, made from wood veneer in a hand-applied marquetry composition. The walls also feature fluted Oyster grey marble detailing, adding to the overall tailored look.

“The furnishings and materials were curated to form a narrative of travel and discovery, weaving stories into the home that invite connection and conversation,” adds Yeo.
For instance, recurring floral motifs are present on upholstery fabrics, wallcoverings and statement lighting designs. The balcony is one such example, with its hand-shaped Lafleur lamps from Slamp, paired with a Pols Potten Zig Zag stool in a burgundy finish that recalls flowers in bloom.
Life in Technicolour

If the living area is the design prelude of the apartment, the study must be its stylistic bridge, and the primary bedroom the dramatic outro. The designers continue this delightful dance of colour and pattern in the private zones, displaying their knack for creating memorable settings.
A contrasting mix of mustard yellow, cobalt blue and lilac purple enlivens the study. The Operette chair from Roche Bobois encapsulates the couple’s globetrotting lifestyle, featuring an eye-catching fabric that offers a nod to various cultural motifs. In the primary bedroom, a handsome blend of colour and texture creates a cosy effect, akin to the style of a plush hotel suite.

The designers selected an abstract floral-patterned wallcovering from Élitis, which has vibrant tones that also feature on the other furnishings in the room. The fringes on the Darmes Cé Petite wall lamps are a playful touch. “The fringes contrast their straight lines with the plush atmosphere created by the light they sift, adding a charming, lived-in feel of Parisian spaces,” says Yeo.
Viewed in its entirety, this abode embodies all the qualities its owners love about Paris, and more. The designers are as proud of the outcome, declaring: “The home radiates warmth while retaining a refined, elevated atmosphere, turning daily living into a stylish, inspiring experience.”
