When it comes to realising sleek interiors brimming with elegance and style, Andrea Savage from Design Intervention sets a vision that few can compare.

Reality television buffs and design lovers alike will be familiar with interior designer Andrea Savage for her crucial role as a judge in the widely watched and highly acclaimed reality renovation competition The Apartment. In the popular programme, Savage shares the judging duties with a panel of other established designers including Jamie Durie and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. Aside from her on-screen role, Savage is also actively involved as a partner and designer at the local award-winning firm Design Intervention, as well as being the creative mind behind an upcoming line of bespoke furniture.

All In A Day’s Work

While these responsibilities might sound overwhelming to many, Savage takes them on with panache and rises to the challenge by serving up an endless stream of design ideas and possibilities.

“Ambition, serious drive, the love and support of my husband Cameron, a great family and good coffee (lots of it),” are some points Savage brings up when asked about her secret to success. Whatever it may be, it’s clear that the world can expect to see more of Savage in the near future from home interior projects to furniture design.

Having trained at one of the world’s prestigious interior design schools during her time in London, her intrinsic flair established her as one of the most sought after interior designers in the Asia Pacific region. Her work has received recognition in a variety of Singapore’s leading publications as well as the Andrew Martin Interior Design Review, which is akin to the Oscars awards in the world of interior design.

A Citizen Of The World

Andrea Savage is the epitome of a world-class citizen when one looks at her background. Born in Africa, Savage was brought up and educated in Australia before pursuing further studies in interior design in Britain. The Australian interior designer relocated to Singapore in 2000 before joining well-known local design company Design Intervention. With her astute sense of style and knack for luxury design, Savage shortly became a partner of the firm in 2010.

About Design Intervention

“We have created a very capable and all-rounded team at Design Intervention, which comprises interior designers, architects, stylists, interior architects and project managers. This enables us to take a project from conception though to fruition: creating a totally bespoke home. We do not have a house style; rather our portfolio is as diverse as our clients are. We believe that good design improves quality of life, affects mood and invokes a sense of wellbeing. Our mission is to enhance the lives of our clients by creating homes that are uniquely tailored to their lifestyle, aspirations and personalities.” Savage explains about the firm and its design philosophy. For homeowners, this cohesive vision means being able to tap on the brilliance of a whole cast of international talents when working with Design Intervention as well as Savage herself.

While Savage may be constantly involved in several projects at the same time, she insists on devoting time for everyone she undertakes. Homeowners can make an appointment to meet with the designers from Design Intervention or for more information on soon-to-be released Signature D.I. furniture line.
