Decorate your home for 2021 with these trendy furniture pieces inspired by Illuminating and Ultimate Gray, which have been selected as the Pantone Colour of the Year
After a turbulent year, the best thing that we can do perhaps is to look forward—that is the message that the Pantone Color Institute hopes to convey, with its selection for the Colour of the Year 2021. For the year ahead, the colour expert has selected two contrasting shades: Illuminating (a sunny yellow) and Ultimate Gray, with the intention to bring forth an uplifting message of optimism and perseverance.
“The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a colour combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit.”
The effect of colour on our mood has been well-studied—warm colours can brighten your day, while sedate tones can create a calming mood. Test out these mood-lifting effects with our selection of furnishings and artworks inspired by these trending hues:
