With the exciting restoration of the Belvoir Castle also comes the timely return of “The Crown” and its latest season to Netflix. Browse through to find out how you can recreate the regalia in your own home:

One of the most influential interior design companies in British history, Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler has been commissioned by the Duchess of Rutland to reimagine the renovation for Belvoir Castle, one of England’s most beautiful stately homes dating back to the eleventh century. Perhaps the most noteworthy and faithful of restorations was that of the newly christened Howard Room, previously known as the Brown room due to its chocolate and citrine scheme dating back to the 1960s, and the Wellington Room where the Duke of Wellington stayed in the 1850s.

All the historical aspects of the room had to be taken into consideration during the meticulous design process, maintaining a wonderful sense of grandeur merged with humble elegance. The combined strengths and techniques of the artisans at de Gournay’s and the castle’s fascinating heritage have resulted in a unique and striking revival of one of Europe’s greatest decorative legacies, a masterful showcase to be admired by future generations. This recreation has now become part of de Gournay’s permanent collection of historically inspired Chinoiserie wallpapers.

With this exciting landmark restoration comes the timely return of The Crown and its latest season to Netflix, ushering with it a mood so inspiring it transports us to grandiose halls with cosy fireplaces, lived-in elegance, and fine-quality furniture. Just add corgis.
