We all know humidity is a huge factor in the heat index during the summer months. To combat that heavy, sticky feeling, consider getting a dehumidifier. As its name implies, it does the opposite of a humidifier and keeps the air dry. It absorbs warm air in the room and removes condensation, bringing down the relative humidity of any space up to 30 or 50 per cent. Many models come with a meter too so you can choose how much humidity you would prefer to be left in the room.

No air conditioner, no problem! A cooling blanket can keep you comfortable the whole night long. Cooling blankets are a fairly recent invention; it was first developed in the 80s for astronauts passing through high-temperature zones. Now, it's been commercialized for those who have difficulty sleeping in hot areas. Using special fabrics, cooling blankets wick away the moisture and help to improve thermal conduction so any heat trapped is released throughout the night.
