Tired of coming home to the same view every day? Here are some tips to help freshen things up without having to spend too much and still get the look you’ve always wanted

1. Spray It, Don't Trash It

Spray paint is your new best friend when it comes to changing a look. Whether it’s an old vase or a practical Ikea piece, spray painting them can completely transform the tone and vibe of a room. Matte terracotta colours will help you achieve the boho-chic look, while black and white evoke sleek, clean-cut edges. Choose the colour you want to match your desired palette and spray to your heart's content.

Instead of investing in brand new furniture, glassware, or home décor, take a walk around thrift stores to help spark new ideas and save you money. Some thrift stores have great antique pieces at surprisingly affordable prices. They may look dusty on the shelves, but don’t let that fool you – after a good clean and some trusty spray paint or varnish, they willl look brand new.

3. Combine Your Finds

If you come across a few pieces you like at a thrift store, put your creativity to work and combine these pieces to create a new DIY custom piece. A mirror and a chain can be made into a wall-hanging mirror; rattan baskets can be upturned and transformed into pendant lights—the possibilities are endless! Now is the time to let your imagination run wild.
