Held at Raffles Hotel Makati, the Tatler Homes Design Awards Philippines brought together the country’s most creative minds to celebrate the future of architecture and interiors
“Design goes beyond decoration; it is a language of culture, memory and aspiration,” said editor of Tatler Homes Philippines Jet Acuzar. “The architects and designers we have gathered here today ensure that Filipino creativity soars to new heights. They remind us that beauty is never surface, but depth made tangible.” Such impactful interiors extend past functionality, turning each space into a kaleidoscope of self-expression over time.
The designers who bring such spaces to life situate their projects in a modern context, while breathing new life into traditional Filipino design. “Everything begins at home,” Acuzar enthused. “It is the first place we know comfort, the first place we see beauty and the foundation of a good life. A home is not just where we live—it is where we learn to live well. So tonight, let us honour the rare: rare talent, rare vision, rare beauty—and the rarest luxury of all, not just to live well, but to live meaningfully.”

In commemoration of the Filipino designers whose vision transforms each new space, the Tatler Homes Design Awards hosted an awards ceremony with the industry’s top talents last August 18 at Raffles Makati. The lively evening was made possible with the support of lead sponsor Wilcon Depot and supporting sponsors Boysen, Brizo, Crate & Barrel and Dexterton.
The jury panel was comprised of Kenneth Cobonpue, Cynthia Almario, Budji Layug, Ramon Antonio and Cyndi Fernandez Beltran. Over the past several months, they examined each design before compiling a list of the most creative, compelling entries that exemplified each award category. The elegant Issa Litton hosted the night’s ceremonies, unveiling each winner to the excited audience.
Before the awarding took place, Tatler Philippines managing director Irene Martel Francisco expressed her gratitude to each of the eighteen nominees. “Our country’s design and creative world is uplifted by the magic that you bring,” she shared.

The awardees in each category highlighted the importance of infusing purposeful design with creative flair, expressing their gratitude for the recognition of their projects. In particular, John Sac and Pauline Sac of 50/53 Architects were excited to hear that their newest project, Medusa Supper Club in Bonifacio Global City, won the newly minted Best Experiential Design category. They stood onstage with one of their partners at Medusa, Tim Yap, who shared that, “We created the space to elevate what Manila already has; we wanted to give it a new heartbeat and a new space for people to gather.”
Carlo Calma also stepped onstage with Marga Nograles, the COO of the Tourism Promotion Board, to accept the award for the Woven Philippine Pavilion. The Philippines’ participation at Expo 2025 Osaka, established under Administrative Order No. 7 as a commitment of the Philippine government to the government of Japan, is spearheaded by the Philippine Organizing Committee led by Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco as chairperson and commissioner general, with Nograles as vice chairperson. Within this framework, Carlo Calma’s inspired design work stands as a defining contribution to the country’s presence on the global stage.
Among the other winners were the Ang Residence by Lino Architecture for Best Living Space, Fable CaféCafe + Lounge by Kenneth Cobonpue for Best Use of Colour, Jaime Ponce De Leon’s home for Best Use of Art, Nay Palad Hideaway by Daniel Pouzet for Best Sustainable Design, Velaris Residences by RHK Land for Best Showroom Design, Equilateral House by Jorge Yulo for Best Innovative Design and Erica Concepcion-Reyes for Tastemaker Award.
The Tatler Homes Design Awards celebrates the boundaries pushed by Filipino designers, whose cutting-edge expertise creates truly unforgettable projects. These individuals possess an extraordinary ability to find new avenues for self-expression while maintaining a deep respect for the functionality of each space.
Their work is a testament to how balancing Filipino heritage and hopeful new perspectives can steer the spaces we inhabit towards uncharted yet promising directions. Their contributions highlight the evolving landscape of Filipino design, where innovation and tradition coexist harmoniously. This dynamic interplay sets the stage for Filipino design to continue flourishing on the global stage, carving a space for each creation to take its rightful place in history.
