Meet the industry experts who will select the winners of the Tatler Design Awards 2021
Since its inception, the Tatler Design Awards has celebrated the brightest minds in the local design scene as well as the most innovative projects undertaken in Singapore.
Now into its fifth year, the winners will be announced in April 2021; the Tatler Design Awards 2021 is sponsored by Arova, Aureo Gallery, Boxx Euro, Gaggenau, Hafary, MM Galleri, Okamura, Roche Bobois and Spin.
Here, we unveil the members of jury for the next edition of the Tatler Design Awards.
Founder of Steve Leung Design Group (SLD Group)
With over 30 years of experience in interior design and architecture, internationally renowned architect Steve Leung has come a long way since founding his eponymous firm in 1997. Operating offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou, SLD Group has amassed a portfolio across 100 cities and received over 210 international design and corporate awards; the company is also currently listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Dean of School of Art and Design at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA)
Sabrina Long is an industry veteran who has led NAFA’s 3D Design programme for 10 years. A passionate advocate of the engagement of students in professional practice, Long has nurtured talents who have won awards at major international competitions. She currently oversees the degree, diploma and certificate courses in 3D Design, Design & Media, Fashion Studies and Fine Art.
Founder and creative partner of Blink Design Group
An industry veteran of two decades, Clint Nagata spearheads the strategic direction of the firm and is greatly inspired by the works of influential Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa and Canadian author Malcolm Gladwell. Blink Design Group has crafted luxurious destinations such as Six Senses Uluwatu in Bali and Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Resort; the firm also acquired Jaya Interior Design, the firm founded by the late Jaya Ibrahim, in 2017.

Founder of Katharine Pooley
Since establishing her namesake studio in London 15 years ago, British interior designer Katharine Pooley has garnered a reputation as an industry force who combines innovative interior design, exquisite craftsmanship and a global design outlook with flair. Pooley was named Designer of the Decade by the International Design & Architecture Awards in 2019.

Teo Su Seam
Partner of LTW Designworks
After graduating from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in the US in 1989, Teo Su Seam worked with respected interior design firms abroad before joining the luxury hospitality practice in 1994. She became the firm’s partner in 2001, working closely with its principal partner Lim Hong Lian. The Singapore-headquartered practice will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2021. Presently, the firm is staffed with over 100 employees in Milan, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore.
Head of Pillar, Architecture and Sustainable Design at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
Professor Erwin Viray’s illustrious career includes being the Global Excellence professor at Kyoto Institute of Technology and head of the Graduate School of Architecture and Design from 2012 to 2016. Tapping into his expertise in the built environment, Professor Viray has been an editor of Architecture + Urbanism magazine for 24 years, and is the author and co-author of various publications and articles on architecture.
Executive director of DesignSingapore Council
As a believer in shaping places that deepen identity and community, Mark Wee is an advocate and practitioner of design innovation methodologies inspired by empathy and experiential prototyping. The designer, architect, artist and educator helmed acclaimed architecture firm Ong&Ong’s Experience Design Studio from 2011 to 2016, rethinking user experiences for clients such as the Housing Development Board, Singapore Airlines and the Singapore Stock Exchange.
