Marked by a brand-new tome and a host of launches, Molteni&C’s 90th anniversary celebration of European design excellence is making its way to Singapore
In the world of luxury interiors, few names carry as much prestige as Molteni&C. The Italian design powerhouse, celebrated for its impeccable craftsmanship and innovation, marks its 90th anniversary this year with a global tribute: Molteni Mondo: An Italian Design Story.
This beautifully crafted monograph is more than just a book; it is a cinematic exploration of the brand’s journey from its beginnings in 1934 in Brianza, Italy to its position as a leader in high-end furniture and design.
“Molteni Mondo is a story about us, but also about the history of Italian design,” shares Giulia Molteni, chief marketing officer of Molteni Group. “We wanted to reflect our evolution while showcasing the unwavering values of quality, tradition and innovation that define us.”

Entering the Molteni&C showcase at P5 showroom in Winsland House itself feels akin to stepping into a space where art and functionality converge. Inspired by the splendour of a family mansion, the showcase captures the brand’s ethos of blending heritage with contemporary design. Visitors will encounter installations that pay homage to Molteni&C’s storied past while celebrating its future.
Among the highlights is the updated VVD kitchen by Vincent Van Duysen. A masterpiece of functionality and aesthetics, it now features new finishes, such as the exquisite Lepanto marble. This kitchen makes a design statement, combining artisanal craftsmanship with modern sensibilities.
The Heritage Collection further enriches the experience, showcasing Gio Ponti’s timeless creations, including the Continuum armchair and Due Foglie sofa, which are reinterpreted using sustainable materials: living proof that Italian design tradition is maintained as rigorously today as ever.

The Singapore 90th anniversary celebration and launch of the Molteni Mondo, held last week, was an invitation to explore the essence of Italian design.
The event was attended by some of Singapore's most renowned interior and architecture design firms, including RT+Q Architects, Kerry Hill Architects and Maer Atelier, who immersed themselves in the Molteni Mondo narrative through through the book and the beautiful collection of Molteni&C furniture and Viabizzuno lighting, artfully arranged throughout the spaces.
Vincent van Duysen's kitchen was the heart and pride of the showroom, while the bar and dining settings proudly displayed the books.
“Our aim is to inspire moments of connection and to foster a culture of quality living,” says Alessandro Ficco, Molteni&C's Hong Kong-based Asia Pacific director, who flew in for the occasion. “This year-long event is a celebration of design as a force for transformation.” For design aficionados, architects and collectors, it has been an unmissable opportunity to witness how Molteni&C has shaped interiors for nine decades.
