What are your general thoughts on the creative process for every project you work on?

Every project is unique. We approach each differently—but with the same creativity and attention to detail we are known for. We work with the designers’ and clients’ needs in mind and think of solutions tailor-made for them.

How do these processes for hotels/residential towers differ from your processes for private residential houses/ villas or interiors of condominiums/apartments?

Our projects for hotels and other commercial spaces usually require large-scale works and more volume of items that need to work with the designer’s intent and appeal to
a broader audience. Meanwhile, residential projects are more personal and usually involve working with existing pieces in a collection.

What are your art curating tips for young professionals living solo?

Buy what makes you happy and buy the best you can afford. Better to have five good, durable pieces that stand out than 50 mediocre ones you have to live with.

What would you suggest to newlywed couples starting to build their homes and art collections?

Find out what both of you like. Don’t rush it. You end up with works that make you both smile.

What would you recommend for avid collectors as the “best use of art” in their homes? Does it take so much interior design styling and architectural considerations?

Display the works to their best advantage, not just as things to go with the decor. Frame and hang pieces properly, in proper conditions and with good lighting. Working with designers and architects who understand the works and design with your collection in mind helps. Working with an experienced Art Advisory like Caramel is always a good idea.

What are the developments in art appreciation you’ve recently discovered in this growing art market?

It’s great that such a vibrant local art scene offers a myriad of options. There are more galleries to visit, institutions have been invigorated with exciting shows, and the local art fairs have started up again post-pandemic.

Why is art important in every home?

Art is important, period. Art in one’s home can transport us. It can uplift, inspire and even comfort us. The great collector J Paul Getty has wonderfully put it: “Few human activities provide an individual with a greater sense of personal gratification than assembling a collection of art objects that appeal to him and one that he feels to have true and lasting beauty.”
