The iconic Hong Kong retailer presents a shoppable exhibition and immersive AR experience that shines a light on the unsung hero of lifestyle design—the chair

The power of good design lies in its ability to transform and enhance our daily lives, and inspire new ways of thinking and living. It is with that mission in mind that Lane Crawford presents its latest exhibition, focusing on the overlooked champion of furniture and lifestyle design: the humble chair. On display from April 29 to May 21 at Pacific Place, Hundred presents 100 breathtaking chairs from around the world, exclusively curated by Lane Crawford, showcasing the evolution of furniture design throughout the last century.

The shoppable exhibition features a diverse collection of signature chairs sourced from more than 20 brands worldwide, such as Carl Hansen & Søn, Cassina, Fritz Hansen, Knoll and Vitra. Classic designs, including mid-century modern marvels like Herman Miller’s Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, hygge-inspired textural upholstery by Danish visionaries &Tradition and avant-garde sculptural statements like Vitra’s futuristic Heart Cone Chair, will be housed together under one roof.

Tastemakers, visionaries and industry leaders were invited to the exhibition preview in the Garden Court, where they took individual portraits in their chosen chairs while celebrating the launch. Visitors can scan QR codes to learn more about the history and creators of each piece, and virtually shop or browse this stunning collection. The innovative AR function even offers an instant visualisation of products in your home with the tap of a smartphone.

So much more than a place to sit, chairs are a reflection of culture, technology and creativity, an expression of form and function that has evolved over the centuries and shaped the way we live, work and interact with the world around us. From thrones to stools, chairs have been an integral part of culture, symbolising power, practicality and everything in between. This unique exhibition pays homage to visionary artisans and their influence on furniture design.

Lane Crawford’s Hundred exhibition is at Garden Court, LG1 at Pacific Place from April 29 to May 21.
