Design enthusiasts flocked to Kuysen's recent event, eager to witness the unveiling of its exclusive partnership with Kartell and toast its 35th anniversary

In crafting living spaces that are uniquely ours, we trust in the ability of our chosen furnishings to express our personalities, values, and tastes in subtle yet impactful ways. That is why it always helps to have a wide yet curated selection, much like the ever-growing collections of Kuysen and its partner brands.

For 35 years now, Kuysen has worked hand in hand with the world’s finest names in luxury home furnishings. In the same amount of time, it has become a highly valued partner of local architects, interior stylists, and tastemakers, as well as design leaders across the globe. The impressive five-storey Kuysen Design + Experience Center is a testament to this remarkable journey, especially when it draws a crowd for a special evening.

Long-time clients, friends, and patrons recently gathered there to celebrate one of Kuysen’s newer feats: its exclusive partnership with Kartell, an Italian furniture, lighting, and accessories brand concurrently cresting its 75th year with Kuysen’s 35th. The expansive space of the third level, now decked in Kartell’s distinctly modern and colourful pieces, was a cosy and inviting setting for the lively conversations and sumptuous dinner that transpired.

Like many of its previous acquisitions, Kuysen shares quite a few things in common with this latest one. Kartell is deeply proud of its familial heritage—being represented now by third-generation leader Federico Luti of the Kartell family as Worldwide Commercial Director—and the impact of its pioneering designs. Flying in for the event, Luti graciously re-introduced the brand to all those present. Guests gained snapshots of its 75-year-long history, as well as its notable collaborations with renowned designers like Philippe Starck and Anna Castelli Ferrieri.

The homegrown industry leader’s journey over the last three decades and a half is not so different. In a recent interview with Tatler, Kuysen president Jensen Go talked about staying rooted in his father’s commitment to quality, while Kuysen creative director Marleen Go-Uyecio spoke about staying relevant and nurturing their partnerships with brands, designers, and end-users well.

Jensen touched on this further at the recent #Kartell’emHowYouFeel event. “What allows us to thrive is that we work closely with principals who are at the top of their respective teams,” he said in his speech. “We work with companies that put emphasis on design excellence, innovation, and quality; most importantly, we work with companies who are here for the long term…the synergy between Kuysen and Kartell is driven by a shared vision: to transform spaces and make it one’s own.”
