Cats have actually been part of Fornasetti's brand since the 1950s, when the “High Fidelity” motif was first unveiled. Originally designed for a tea set, the iconic motif features “a languid cat, unmoving in posture yet ever-changing in its coat”.
This festive season, Fornasetti once again sees these regal creatures claiming their place on a collection of home accessories: coffee and tea sets, mugs, scented candles, glasses, decorative holders and a table clock. Even better, the coffee and tea cups are available as a pair, making it perfect for gifting. In the brand's words, “[each] creation becomes an invitation to celebrate daily rituals with sophistication and a touch of whimsy.” With our busy everyday lives, perhaps that touch of whimsy is just what we need to get through the day.

Besides home accessories, Fornasetti also launched a panettone packaged in a cylindrical box decorated with the same High Fidelity cat motif. The panettone was created in collaboration with renowned bakery Davide Longoni for the sixth time in a row, but this year, the traditional Milanese cake is enriched with Jamaican rum from the historic Hampden distillery and vanilla pods. This subtle addition gives the cake a warm yet vibrant note, perfect for the festive season.

In addition, Fornasetti is hosting L’Heure du Chat, an exhibition developed in collaboration with gallerist Tommaso Calabro and devoted to the figure of the cat, on the top floor of Fornasetti Store in Milan on Corso Venezia 21/A. Running from November 14 to December 31, the exhibition sees works on paper, sketches, and paintings by Leonor Fini (Buenos Aires, 1907 – Paris, 1996) and Stanislao Lepri (Rome, 1905 – Paris, 1980), created between the 1930s and the 1970s and drawn from Calabro’s gallery, on display.
This collaboration feels like a natural extension and renewal of Piero Fornasetti's 1970 exhibition at the Galleria dei Bibliofili, also dedicated to cats.
