Welcoming guests at the second level of the stylish showroom is the famous Dalilips by designed by no less than Salvador Dalí in 1972. Since 2004 it’s been produced in rotomoulded polyethylene making it a fitting accent for outdoors. Straight ahead, a striking display of the Grasso armchair by Stephen Burks beckons. The 2019 NYCxDESIGN Best Residential Lounge Seating awardee is showcased in different fabrics and colours—each variation is sure to stand out in any room. There is also the best-selling Table B by Konstantin Grcic, which can stretch up to five metres using a simple profile of extruded aluminium, is surrounded by vividly hued Showtime chairs by the Spanish designer, Jaime Hayon.
Besides functional pieces, BD Barcelona Design is well-known for unique fixtures and home accessories such as the famous Happy Yeti and Susto vases and the geometric Olvidada lighting fixture.
Raising the bar in furniture design is the Couture cabinet by Färg & Blanche. Not your usual sideboard, Couture features a structure in anodic lack lacquered steel. On its doors are simple patterns painstakingly created using the Wood TailoringTM technique. The sewn patterns are sleek in black for the natural ash wood finish and blue for the stained black finish. Also another show-stopper is the Tout Va Bien sideboard by Antoine and Manuel—a surprising mélange of applied arts, hieroglyphic language, contemporary graphics, fantasy and optimism.
