The Mood 24-piece silver-plated flatware set, encased in its signature egg-shaped vessel, is a stunning centrepiece in its own right. “It’s sleek, modern, and designed to impress even when not in use,” he says. Tay gravitated towards the Glazed Brown Centerpiece from Daum Atelier’s Cavalcade collection: an exquisite piece in frosted brown, grey, and powder pink that captures dynamic movement in equestrian-inspired forms. Chiun also singled out the Poétique by Tamara Ralph Daum Collection, a choice that made perfect sense given his background as a fashion lover. Chiun noted how the collection brings a couture sensibility into the realm of home decor. “There’s something unapologetically feminine about it,” he mused, “but it still holds its own as a statement piece. Designed by Hans Hopfer in the 1970s and now an icon of modern modular seating, the Mah Jong is customisable in layout, height, and upholstery, making it as flexible as it is eye-catching. As they both settled in and lounged on its low-slung seats, Tay and Chiun couldn’t help but marvel at this iconic piece of modern furniture. “It’s like sitting on a work of art,” Chiun remarked, noting how the sofa’s vibrant upholstery (a special collaboration with Missoni) brings a bold, fashion-forward edge to any interior. Tay went on to explain: “The Mah Jong is a kind of statement piece and conversation starter that invites you to play with space.”

For their final pitstop, Tay and Chiun headed over to Lladró, where delicate figurines stole the scene. Forget what you think you know about traditional porcelain; Lladró’s modern collections push the boundaries of the medium with bold collaborations and unexpected forms.
