We're featuring five wellness entrepreneurs from the Gen. T List 2020 who are shaking up the health and fitness industry

The focus on wellness has been more prominent than ever this year thanks to Covid-19. From seeking out new fitness routines to do at home, to paying more attention to our mental and physical health throughout the year, and even trying out new wellness practices such as incorporating CBD products into our daily life and trying out new forms of movement, the health and wellness industry is not slowing down anytime soon. 

We’re highlighting five Hong Kong-based entrepreneurs from the Gen.T List 2020 who are leading the way in the the wellness industry. From modernising the image of traditional Chinese medicine to gamifying fitness, here are five wellness entrepreneurs to know in Hong Kong. 

1. Candice Chan

Co-founder and managing director, LifeHub

Co-founder and managing director of LifeHub, Candice Chan has been in the wellness industry for over ten years in Hong Kong and in the US. Chan opened LifeHub’s flagship centre in Hong Kong in 2019 to bring science-backed health experiences to the city. 

The go-to spot for all things related to alternative wellness, LifeHub’s IV drips, oxygen therapy and ear seeding treatments are now the talk of the town, attracting athletes who are looking for sports recovery treatments as well as in-the-know wellness enthusiasts. 

With plans to expand to Mainland China in the upcoming years, remember to book in for an IV drip session when its Shanghai branch opens.

2. Vivian Tang

Executive director, Wai Yuen Tong

Vivian Tang believes that Western medicine is not the only effective way to heal the body. As the executive director of Wai Yuen Tong, Tang is writing a new page of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) manufacturer's long history by making TCM products more millennial and Gen Z friendly. 

Tang has also launched ProVet, a wellness supplement for pets, which uses TCM to help improve the overall health of your furry friends.

3. Keith Rumjahn

Denise Tam is the founder of Heavens Please, the city’s premier CBD platform. Offering eco-conscious CBD products as an alternative healing method, Tam is not afraid to push boundaries while reducing the stigma of hemp and CBD products with her wellness company.

5. Alvin Cheung

Co-founder and COO, Handyrehab

As the co-founder and COO of Handyrehab, Alvin Cheung is helping stroke victims with his company’s robotic gloves. 

Following his motto that “business is a force for social good”, Cheung and his partners designed a robotic glove that sends data for therapists to keep track of rehabilitation progress while also aiding partially paralysed people with daily tasks such as holding cups, using a smartphone and opening doors.
