Last December,  Jovian Mandagie celebrated the 10^th anniversary of his fashion label. This is an admirable feat for a man in his early 30s, considering how fashion is a fast-paced and trend-driven industry.

“I am blessed. The success that I have achieved today is thanks to the support of many people - my team, my collaborators and clients,” says this expectant father with wife Nina Sabrina Ismail Sabri.

The designer is also a savvy businessman, having initiated successful collaborations with Tunku Tun Aminah and Lisa Surihani and not to mention expanding his business portfolio and co-hosting reality TV series "Say Yes To The Dress Asia".

This Generation T Lister is recognised by Hublot for his success in combining his creative flair with an entrepreneurial mind.

Here, he reflects on his personal journey and offers some style tips for social events.

Describe your career highlights.
“I am proud to have built JM Tower with such a strong team and for multiple chances to collaborate with  amazing people.”

Please share how you got into the fashion industry.
“I have dabbled in different industries over the years. But my heart is always in fashion. This is where I belong.”

What are your style tips for women who wish to dress to impress at social events?
First, always research the dress code stated on the invitation cards and stick to it. While you might want to dress to impress, you should always abide by the dress code out of respect for the host.

Your hair and makeup should always suit your dress. If your dress is elaborate, pick a sleek look. For lipstick, choose carefully; you can go for louder colours in glamorous events. As for shoes, think of the venue. You wouldn’t want heels for a garden party when  stylish wedges or chic flats would have been more appropriate.

What about men? Any tips you could share to stand out in style in social events?
“For men, you can dress well but your etiquette and attitude matters more. As they say, manners maketh the man. Outfit-wise, you can play up two things—your shoes and your watch—because most men’s suits are simple in cut and design.”

And finally, what legacy do you want to leave behind?
“I want my business to be successful for many generations to come!"
