This year’s Social Impact Awards winners talk the power of AI, sticking to your values and tackling climate change

The Gen.T x Credit Suisse Social Impact Awards recognise Gen.T honourees who have made significant contributions to Asian society in the fields of social impact, sustainability or innovation.

Put another way, the awards celebrate those who have brought about “constructive disruption” in their industry, according to Dr Francois Monnet, Head of Private Banking for North Asia at Credit Suisse, which has partnered with Gen.T for this second edition of the awards.

The awardees hail from different fields—from fintech and robotics to green engineering—but they all share an important commonality: they offer revolutionary solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing the world today.

“As an engineer, we're here to solve problems,” says Negawatt co-founder Arthur Lam, one of this year’s awardees. “And the biggest problem that we have right now is climate change.”

“Social values and norms are rapidly changing,” adds Jason Tu, founder of MioTech. “It needs to be addressed urgently by technology.”
