Thai jewellery brand Ravipa counts Blackpink’s Lisa and Jackson Wang as fans. Its co-founder and CEO shares her insights on taking a local company global

Known for its timeless designs crafted with precious metals, Ravipa positions itself as an everyday jewellery brand that reflects the wearer’s personality. The brand was founded in 2012 by Thanisa Veerasaksri, who was pursuing a Business Administration degree at the time when she got inspired by her sister’s jewellery-making class.

Today, the brand has been worn by Blackpink’s Lisa and collaborated with Disney on collections including the recent one in June featuring the characters from the Inside Out 2 movie.

But before its international success, Veersaksri had to overcome several challenges. In her episode for Gen.T’s My First series, the 2024 Gen.T Leader of Tomorrow talks about preparing her company to take on major clients and why it’s okay to have a bad day. Here are some of the highlights from her interview.

Her mantra for success

“The key to success is to never give up and work very, very hard. For Ravipa, we spend almost six months making each piece of jewellery. I believe this hard work is what our customers around the world love.”

Dealing with bad days

“It’s okay to fail; it’s normal to feel disappointed. But tell yourself it’s just a bad day, not a bad life.”

Rising up to the challenge

“As a small company, sometimes the opportunities are too big for us. But we are a company with big dreams. Every day, we get ourselves ready for bigger opportunities, so that the next time opportunity knocks again, I will be a better version of myself.”

Ravipa’s big break

“Disney is a global brand and we are a local brand, so we were very nervous at first. At the time, I only had ten staff with me, that’s why it was hard for me to take on something big. But we did our best and everyone loved the collection. Now we have a chance to sell not only in Thailand but also internationally.”
