Existing and new members of the Gen.T community gathered for the first physical celebration of the Gen.T List in Singapore in two years
After two years of virtual events, the Gen.T community in Singapore were finally able to come together on October 6 to celebrate the launch of the latest Gen.T List.
New and past years’ honourees as well as members of the Tribe—the panel of experts that helped to nominate and vet the annual list—gathered for a private dinner at Sinfonia Ristorante, a contemporary restaurant within the iconic Victoria Concert Hall. Nearly 80 guests attended, mingling over a delicious array of food and drinks.
Actress Jo Tan, who is also a 2020 honouree, was the emcee for the evening, welcoming guests as they took their seats for dinner. In her opening remarks, she also jokingly expressed her envy of this year’s honourees being able to enjoy a physical celebration unlike her cohort, who were honoured over Zoom due to the pandemic.

Stephanie Tay, managing director of Tatler Asia (Singapore) and Chong Seow Wei, Gen.T’s Asia editor, also greeted guests with a joint speech. “Wow, this hits differently. It’s our first physical Leaders of Tomorrow event in three years, so you can imagine how excited we are,” said Chong.
The pair shared how the Gen.T List was put together this year and the 300 honourees across Asia on it. They then gave a shout-out to the Tribe in Singapore for their contributions, including OpenSpace Ventures’ Jaclyn Seow and NQ International’s Noor Quek—both of whom were at the dinner.
Finally, they thanked the brand’s two key partners in Singapore: Credit Suisse, which has been the regional headline sponsor of the Gen.T List since 2019, and local event sponsor Royal Salute.

The first highlight of the event rolled out after the second course was served: the Gen.T x Credit Suisse Social Impact Awards, which recognise Gen.T honourees using technology to create scalable positive change. This year, there were 12 recipients from around the region, two of which come from Singapore.
The first was Ted Chen, co-founder and CEO of Evercomm, a cleantech company helping businesses to decarbonise using a data-driven approach to improve their energy and operational efficiency. The second was Lihan Zhou, whose biotechnology company Mirxes is focused on delivering early diagnoses and affordable preventive healthcare solutions for cancer, cardiovascular, metabolic and infectious diseases.

The 2022 honourees who were present at the event were also invited up on stage for a group photo with their personalised magazine covers.
Later, Chong returned to the stage to announce the launch of a new initiative in 2023: the Gen.T Asia Summit. “Many of our past years’ honourees will know that we’ve been planning for the Summit since 2019, but political instability and Covid made that impossible—until next year.”
The innovation and ideas festival is set to take place in Hong Kong next May featuring global speakers such as Juan Pablo Escobar, who now goes by Sebastián Marroquín, the son of the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar. Aside from thought-provoking talks about bold and brave ideas, people and technologies, there will also be experiential activities in wellness, art, culture and dining.
The evening concluded with a special segment, where three guests were chosen to take home a bottle of Royal Salute 30 Year Old Key to the Kingdom blend. To do this, guests were asked to write down what positive change they hope to achieve on a piece of paper at the start of the evening and submit their answers to the Gen.T team. The best three answers were selected, and they came from 2018 honouree Annabelle Kwok, 2020 honouree Errol Lim and 2022 honouree Jane Wang.
