On September 24, we unveiled the 30 new honourees from Malaysia on the Gen.T List 2021 at a private dinner.

Throughout the evening, the new Leaders of Tomorrow mingled with members of the Tribe, our panel of industry experts that help nominate and vet candidates for the Gen.T List. Tribe members in attendance included Aaron Sarma, general partner of ScaleUp Malaysia and Patricia Lim, co-founder of funding network Circles of Angels. Honourees in attendance included Red Hong Yi, Qyira Yusri and Dato Chevy Beh

The dinner was presented in partnership with regional sponsor Credit Suisse as well as Malaysia sponsors Maxis, Chopard, Shook!, Bombay Sapphire, Vyne and BMW.

Before dinner, guests were entertained by mixologist Jonas Ax, who served a variety of cocktails such as the Break Smash, a refreshing mix of Bombay Sapphire and homemade green tea. Later, guests enjoyed a three-course meal specially prepared by restaurant Shook!, paired with a selection of wines from Vyne.

Three honourees—Daiyan Trisha, Annice Lyn and Zikry Kholil—wore timepieces and jewellery by Chopard. Ko Chuan Zhen, Shin Tseng and Shin Chang, existing members of the Gen.T community, also wore Chopard timepieces.

This year, Gen.T has partnered with Malaysian telecommunications company Maxis to launch the inaugural Maxis Awards, a programme designed to support two entrepreneurs from the Gen.T community who are harnessing digital tools to bring about meaningful social impact within their community.

After months of searching and a rigorous judging process, Gen.T honourees Mohamed Tarek El-Fatatry and Dzaeman Dzulkifli were announced as the two awardees on the night. Both entrepreneurs will each receive a grant worth up to RM150,000 (around US$36,000) in monetary funding and Maxis digital solutions for a year to support their projects, as well as branding and publicity on Maxis and Gen.T's platforms.
