The third event in our Enter The World Of... series took place in Taipei. With a focus on equipping startup founders with the leadership skills they need to succeed, the event saw contributions from three Gen.T honourees as well as an industry heavyweight in Dr JW Kuo, chairman of Topco Group.
Honouree and BravoAI founder Jack Chao moderated the discussion, giving a platform for the three speakers to discuss their changing leadership roles within their companies.
Dr Kuo, who is set to retire soon, spoke of the challenges around finding a successor. Gen.T honouree Chen Yen Chen, chairman of family-owned business Hop Lion Feather Works, also discussed succession, and the benefits and challenges of working for a company where his father is the former chairman. Chen stressed the importance of ensuring families align in their vision, saying that both his father and himself view innovation as the key to the long-term success of their company.
Honouree and Wemo Scooter founder Jeffrey Wu described his plans to change the way people travel around high-density mega cities, and how his leadership style will help him on that journey.
