K-pop’s reigning girl group is working hard on new material and reconnecting with fans after delays caused by the pandemic

Blackpink is gearing up for their comeback in the summer of 2022. YG Entertainment announced earlier this week that K-pop’s biggest girl group “is in the last stages of recording for their new album”, which is set to release in August.

Not only have Blackpink members—Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa—been working hard on their new music, the girls will also embark on a world tour until the end of the year.

YG Entertainment says the world tour will expand interactions with fans across the globe, and there are also plans for “large-scale projects that can live up to [Blackpink’s] status.”

The exciting news comes one year and nine months after the release of their first album, The Album, back in October 2020. Both Rosé and Lisa, who is a Gen.T honouree, have released their solo albums, R and Lalisa, in 2021.
