Endowus Empower aims to provide underserved communities with the tools, tips, opportunities and support that will help them reach their financial and life goals

Digital wealth platform Endowus has launched a community impact initiative to promote financial inclusion in Singapore. Empower, which is a part of the company's CSR efforts, aims to provide underserved and underprivileged groups with the tools, advice and support to help them achieve their wealth and life goals.

The goal is to boost financial access and literacy for 500,000 individuals through its outreach activities by the year 2025, said Endowus CEO Gregory Van in a statement.

The initiative will target four groups in particular—namely, not-for-profit organisations, women, gig workers and tertiary students—and tap into new and existing partnerships with private and public organisations and institutions to boost financial inclusion within their communities.

Case in point: Endowus will partner with the Financial Women's Association of Singapore and United Women Singapore this year to organise financial literacy workshops for women of different ages and backgrounds. It will also work with local polytechnics and universities to organise financial and investing workshops and talks for students.

Endowus was founded by Van and former Morgan Stanley executive Samuel Rhee in 2017 to make investing and wealth management easy and accessible. Since its founding, the company has raised US$50 million in total funding from investors such as UBS, EDBI and SoftBank Ventures Asia.
