A French and Italian-inspired restaurant that offers a garden-to-table dining experience amid lush greens

Overlooking the verdant HortPark lawn, this charming restaurant takes advantage of its own vegetable garden and locally-farmed seafood to offer farm-to-table dining options (available for specific dishes only), which suit its provincial theme quite well. The varied menu reads like a culinary Billboard Hot 100 list of popular French and Italian dishes: calamari, mussels in white wine, foie gras with chutney, barramundi acqua pazza, duck confit, and a selection of risottos, pastas and pizzas (pizza only available on weekends for lunch). While wines by the glass are limited to a single house pour each, those purchasing bottles can pick from a good variety of whites, reds, and champagnes—with tasting notes thoughtfully included. Service is helpful and unintrusive; but the largest draw is the interior. Its rustic decor, wood furniture and hanging foliage make this place a popular spot for weddings, not to mention a favourite for romantic dates, cosy get-togethers, and quiet coffee catchups.
