Uma Nota
The name ‘Uma Nota’ may suggest a single note of music, but this new Brazilian-Japanese restaurant is anything but one dimensional
Nestled in Soho, this is Hong Kong’s first Brazilian-Japanese street food boteco. If it’s an unfamiliar combination, the funky feels, young crowd and busy bar soon put you at ease. As you’d expect, the techniques and ingredients of Japan meet with the flair and flavour of Brazil. When the caipirinhas flow and the carioca funk and samba are spun, it makes for a unique crossover, supported by ceviches and katsu sando, espetinhos skewers and Hokkaido milk ice cream on an eclectic menu.
Signature Dishes
- Coxinhas de frango, chicken and okra dumplings, homemade chilli sauce
- Miso tiradito, sliced tuna
- Berinjela 2.0, tempura eggplant, miso glaze, goat cheese
Tatler Tip
Uma Nota doesn’t take reservations, but waiting at the bar is no hardship with potent cocktails, while the friendly staff guide you through unfamiliar parts of the menu.
