A molecular gastronomy experience where food retains its experimental spirit and the delivery of flavour is foregrounded
Even the most jaded of diners will find it hard to fault the forward-thinking offerings at Tippling Club. Launched when molecular gastronomy was at its height, one can be forgiven in thinking Tippling Club was just following a trend. Eat there today and you’ll know that it’s a restaurant that marches to its own beat. While the food retains its experimental spirit, the focus remains on the delivery of flavours. This is especially evident in the gourmand tasting menu, which also has a vegetarian version. One of the pioneering restaurants to reinterpret the fine-dining experience—chef Ryan Clift definitely prefers the playful to the proper—it’s also one of the establishments that has put as much emphasis on its drinks programme. As such, it graces the lists of best restaurants and bars alike, which we suppose isn’t much of a surprise—the name says it all.
