The Queen

The Chinese restaurant at FWD House 1881 is home to revamped dim sum classics and regional Chinese favourites

Tucked away in the quiet courtyard at the heart of the Victorian-era site of 1881 Heritage, The Queen is steeped in the architectural style of historical Chinese private residences. This Chinese restaurant offers a wide range of regional cuisines, including recipes from Anhui, Guangdong, Fujian, Hunan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Sichuan and Zhejiang. Some of the dim sum and other dishes have a modern, western twist to boot. Consider the rich, dense Bailey’s egg tarts, the steamed rice rolls with Angus beef and pepper, and deep-fried almond milk, for instance—they offer a refreshing and fun spin on the classics.

Tatler Tip

The restaurant’s signature boneless crispy chicken is a must-try. It comes with three dressing options on the side: French chives, black truffle purée and lemon sauce. While they have very different tasting notes and textures, all pair very well with the dish.
