Our famous local hawker fare will be gaining (greater) international fame this year with this new Las Vegas integrated resort by Zouk Group

Southeast Asia's local food scene will soon be enjoying more of the spotlight, but on an international scale, as Zouk Group introduces famous hawker favourites into their integrated resort in Las Vegas.

Last year, Zouk Group announced that they would be partnering with Resorts World Las Vegas to create an integrated resort. This US$4.3 billion dollar resort is set to include immersive entertainment and lifestyle concepts and is Zouk's first venture in the United States. It is expected to open in the third quarter of 2021.

This week, Zouk Group announced that they would be bringing hawker favourites such as Singapore's Boon Tong Kee chicken rice, Hong Kong's Ah Chun Shandong Dumplings, Thailand's Ten Suns Braised Beef and the Philippines' Pepita's Kitchen (known for its stuffed roasted pigs) to their Famous Foods Street Eats section, a 24,000 square feet marketplace in the resort.

Zouk added that their executive chairman, Hui Lim, and their chief executive officer, Andrew Li, have tasted many famous hawker dishes around Asia and had specifically chosen places with unique recipes, particularly those that had been passed down through family generations.

Aside from Asian offerings, there will also be stalls at Famous Foods Street Eats that will serve Western food. Some of these dishes will include Italian meals by Chef James Trees who hails from Esther's Kitchen, a Las Vegas favourite. Other dishes will be fried chicken by James Beard, an award-winning chef.

Besides food, guests can also get drinks from the Famous Foods Center Bar. This will feature a beer system that automatically pours your drink for you. This beer system also will offer a rotation of cocktails, wines and beers from around the world.

Zouk Group added that more food and beverage concepts will be released in the coming weeks.
