The Baker & The Bottleman
A Wan Chai favourite that moves effortlessly from morning bakery to lively evening bistro, where British comfort food and a sharp wine list keep the neighbourhood coming back
The Baker & The Bottleman has settled into its role as the sort of place you can drop into at almost any hour. Downstairs begins the day with breads, pastries and cakes fresh from the ovens, while upstairs the restaurant shifts the mood toward relaxed European dining as the day unfolds. The menu leans into ingredient-led cooking with a distinctly modern British sensibility. Lunch and all-day dishes include smoked salmon benedict served on toasted croissant with hollandaise and pappardelle with nduja chilli ragù and mascarpone, while dinner turns more convivial, with plates designed to share. Chicken liver parfait with focaccia, beef tartare with confit egg yolk and pillowy potato gnocchi with black bomber cheddar all capture the kitchen’s comfort-driven approach.
