Welcome to Foodie Finds! This is an article series by Tatler, chronicling where and what to order according to the food-obsessed.

I myself have never understood non-foodies. How can one not love flavours, spices, aromas and all the cultural nuances and memories that come with every bite? Dining is an experience meant to be savoured and is even more fun when shared with loved ones. Dining around a table means sharing, conversing, bonding and learning. A dish can tell you so much about a person, a culture, and a country. It speaks volumes of a nation's history and is an art form on its own. Skilled hands are trained over years or are born out of pure passion and practice. Professional chefs and home cooks alike, from young stars to grandmothers, have been cooking up meals filled with emotion and have truly made us foodies, happy.

Through Foodie Finds, we ask our epicurean friends to share their favourites. In this feature, we tackle takeout and delivery. Hear what Carlo Alvarez, co-founder of Wagyu Studio, has to say. Here, he shares his go-to shops for takeout here.

@ramenron.ph

Ramen Ron is the pioneer of the ramen craze in Metro Manila. For me, It's the most authentic and delicious ramen you can have today. Thankfully, they'll be opening in Rockwell soon. I love their tantanmen, abura soba, pork buns, and aji tamago.

2. Food Trip MNL

The cookie craze in Manila has been going on for a while now, But I can confidently say, Good Cookie is the best cookie in the Metro. Perfectly sweet, salty and always baked to perfection. You should try the milk chocolate chip with sea salt.

4. Tao Yuan

@taoyuanrestaurantmanila

We don't have many Singaporean restaurants in town but Tao Yuan is a must try. They have delicious set meals for groups of four-six people and are always consistent. My favourite orders are chicken rice, fish head curry, and the clams.

5. La Chinesca

@lachinesca

La Chinesca is my go to taco place. I feel that most Mexican concepts here forget how important salsa is. Salsa is the soul of a taco and I think La Chinesca makes the best salsas in town. I like to order the deep fried fish taco, crispy shrimp taco, and Mexican coke (if available).
