Sunset Grill

Steak House   |   $ $ $ $   |   Lantau Island

This rooftop restaurant and bar boasts a charcoal grill and superior dry-aged beef

The clue is in the name here: there is a focus on cuts of beef, proudly displayed as you walk in. But there is plenty else to choose from if you’re not in the mood for steak, and the heart-warmingly friendly staff are happy to talk you through your options. Start with a locally themed cocktail or mocktail; non-drinkers are well-catered to in a welcome break from the norm. Starters are perfectly sized for one, but we recommend selecting a few and sharing; the Hokkaido scallops are non-negotiable. Dishes are bold, but seldom overly ambitious, leaving the chefs to focus on quality and deliciousness, which they deliver in bucketloads. Do not leave without trying the “Whole Lemon” dessert. Simple yet stunning.

Signature Dishes

  • 30-day dry-aged bone-in steak
  • Steak tartare
  • Segovian suckling pig

Tatler Tip

In cooler weather, book a table on the terrace. After so many years of travel restrictions, there’s something oddly soothing about watching planes take off and land. The sunset isn’t bad, either.
