Owned by celebrity Thai chef Ian Kittichai, Soi Social offers Thai cuisine with a contemporary twist

Though Thai celebrity chef Ian Kittichai hails from Bangkok, his restaurant at Resorts World Sentosa offers a broad survey of regional Thai cuisines. Take the laab moo tod, for instance—an Isan speciality of deep-fried minced pork, fragranced with fresh coriander, galangal and lemongrass. With its riot of flavours, it is the perfect dish to start the meal. The menu includes familiar staples of Thai cooking, but it is worth venturing into the lesser-known dishes. The gaeng phed ped yang pairs slices of roasted duck with a red curry enriched with fresh lychees and pineapple. The combination is sweet, spicy and beautifully balanced against the duck’s richness. Another standout is the pu nim kai kem, a Thai spin on a beloved Singaporean favourite: crispy soft-shell crab tossed with Thai chilli oil and salted egg.
