Beautifully plated omakase is served in a peaceful dining room

Nestled among picturesque shophouses, Rhubarb Le Restaurant is a cosy Michelin-starred restaurant known for its imaginative and unpretentious take on French fine dining. Rhubarb’s three- to five-course omakase lunch options offer outstanding value and are complemented by a well-curated wine and liquor list. Each dish is beautifully plated without trying too hard to impress. Instead of relying on fanciful avant-garde creations, chef-partner Paul Longworth’s brilliance is displayed in his deliberate spotlighting of even the tiniest components on every dish. From raw scallops in tomato dashi to crispy potato rolls with pork and pear purée, appetisers are given their rightful chance to shine. The signature celeriac emulsion—married with a decadent black truffle purée base and lavish summer truffle topping—is simply magnifique. Chef Longworth’s magic extends to meat dishes as well, such as the tender Hungarian duck paired with blackberry purée.
