Ramato

Permanently closed   |   Sheung Wan

Taking over from the 12-year-old 208 Duecento Otto, Ramato is a showcase of chef Antimo Maria Merone's comfort food sensibilities

Featuring recipes developed by Estro’s Antimo Maria Merone, Ramato is a homage to Italian comfort food. The food is hearty and fresh, though not groundbreaking by any means. But does Italian food have to be? Familiar, in this case, is a great thing. The star dishes include the grilled king prawns that are juicy and full of flavour. The pumpkin ravioli and the lobster fettucine are other heavy hitters. All in all, a stylish restaurant for raucous gatherings—the downstairs bar also entices for a pre-dinner or post-prandial cocktail.

SignaturebDishes

  • Beef carpaccio with rocket salad, parmesan and balsamic pearls
  • Spaghetti Ramato
  • Baked whole sea bass “acqua pazza”

Tatler Tip

Go early and have a drink downstairs—the fresh breeze and garden decor make you feel like you’re dining alfresco abroad.
