Popinjays
Perched from the roof of The Murray, the hotel rooftop bar and restaurant surprises on themed cocktails and innovative menu options
Tatler Says
Popinjays is named after the cockatoos at nearby Hong Kong Park—but The Murray’s rooftop restaurant has little of its namesakes’ vibrant personality. The four-course set dinner is a representation of the indeterminately European menu’s highlights; the dishes served are decent, both in flavour and execution. The wine menu has breadth and depth, with many by-the-glass and half-bottle options. Popinjays’ spacious interior boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a wrap-around terrace that showcase sweeping city views, though the soundtrack of loud throbbing music seems at odds with its elegant setting.
Signature Dishes
- Perfectly cooked egg
- Beef duet and carrot
- Boston lobster thermidor
Tatler Tip
The restaurant also offers daily afternoon tea sets, and popular weekend brunches with free-flow drink packages.
