Peach Garden (Orchid Country Club)

A classic Cantonese restaurant offering an overwhelming spread of options, from steamed mian xian to sweet baby lobster
Peach Garden at Orchid Country Club is a classic Cantonese restaurant that’s constantly abuzz with families due to its location. The menu reads like a bible and there are several dishes to try for a hearty meal. Served in an individual portion is the moreish fried crispy eggplant sprinkled with flavoursome pork floss; for bigger groups, opt for the sharing portions. Included here is the steamed mian xian (thin white vermicelli noodles) doused in a light broth, and topped with sweet baby lobster (still in its shell), egg white and aromatic Chinese wine. After a heavy meal, it’s best to end with a refreshing dessert, and the chilled cubes of jelly royale, served in a young coconut, provides a sweet respite to the palate. There’s only a small selection of wine and beverages on the menu, so if you’re particular about what you drink, bring your own bottles instead. Otherwise, you can always opt for the tea beverages, which pair nicely with the Cantonese fare.
TATLER TIP
Over the weekends, the restaurant fills up quite quickly due to its location within a popular country club, so it’s best to make a reservation before heading down.
