Pang’s Kitchen

A neighbourhood restaurant in Happy Valley that continues to win loyal diners through confident Cantonese cooking and a few quietly playful touches.
In a city full of slick dining rooms, Pang’s Kitchen keeps things disarmingly simple. Tucked along the quieter streets of Happy Valley, the restaurant has spent more than two decades building a reputation the old-fashioned way, through cooking that people return for again and again. The menu reads like a tour of Cantonese comfort dishes, but several plates reveal the kitchen’s willingness to nudge tradition slightly off centre. The sweet and sour pork with strawberries offers a brighter, fruitier version of the familiar classic, while the crispy garlic chicken delivers exactly the kind of deeply savoury crunch that keeps tables ordering it every visit. Elsewhere, the cooking remains reassuringly straightforward: bold flavours, honest portions and a sense that the recipes have been refined over years of repetition. The room itself is compact and lively, with tables close enough that the energy of neighbouring conversations inevitably spills across the space.
